I am incredibly talented. And you are, too.

I’ve had the experience of not really knowing my own value and discounting my talents.

I’ve also experienced fully owning it and how empowering that feels
and the ripple effects it has on those around me.

Every cell of your body hums and people WANT to be around you to experience it too.

I felt it when I was photographing Danielle Laporte for her new Magazine.

Everyone in the room was someone I admired. They were all holding space for me to own my greatness. They saw me as an equal. That energy helped me move into my own greatness.

Fear would come up. “Can I pull this off?” ”Will she like these images?” And then I would look into the viewfinder and shift back down deep into my own creative process. At one point I was so moved by what I saw in the viewfinder that I got emotional. It took my breath away, and at the same time I saw how using my gifts was adding value in the world just by showing up and taking action.

When I left there, I realized that I had gone against myself many times to work with people who looked down on me and judged me as less than.

They didn’t really see me as valuable or talented. Why did I allow this? Because I didn’t really believe in myself either. They were just reflecting it back to me. I decided that I no longer want to settle for the “not-enoughism” story.

A few months later, I photographed Danielle at an event she was speaking at.

I took my camera and sat right in front of the stage where Danielle was speaking, held my camera up and focused around her feet and waited. I waited for the moment, and trusted it would happen. I kept the camera in the same place. I didn’t really follow her movements around. She would walk through the frame and I would feel intuitively when it was time to take the picture. It happened. It was a deeper trusting in myself and my own ability to see. An inner knowing from years of practice. I was paying attention to the light and how it was falling on her as she moved across the stage. I was really present and aligned myself with the energy of the moment. It wasn’t my ego. It was an allowing.

The Soul*Full Summit took place October 14-24, 2013. But you can still download and own the complete collection of interviews — in both video and audio (MP3) — plus a worksheet for each session. That’s 17.5 hours of audio you can listen to while you create your next big thing.

Half of all proceeds will benefit Down Syndrome Education International, an incredible organization that supports kids with Down Syndrome (like my little 4 year old, Max) by offering highly researched education programs for kids with Down syndrome in a way that values how they learn and grow. So that they can be the best they can be and have more opportunities to live their best life.

I believe that all humans are valuable, not just the ones who may appear to be just like you and me.We ALL have talent, gifts and greatness. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we all owned it, expressed it and helped others do the same.

***p.s. If you’re interested in seeing the photos Danielle is using in the upcoming Danielle Magazine….you’ll need to stay tuned for her launch! The photos above were used for other projects of hers.
